XD Connects and Solo midocean join forces: a new European powerhouse in Product Media!

The Product Media industry continues to evolve! XD Connects and Solo, the group behind Solo midocean and SOL’S, are now operating under the umbrella of US investment firm Platinum Equity.

Two major players, a stronger group and new ambitions. But what impact will this move have on the European market? And, above all, what opportunities will it create for distributors?

Two major players, one shared future!

On 11 September 2025, Platinum Equity announced the acquisition of XD Connects, having previously announced its acquisition of Solo. Both transactions were completed in the fourth quarter of 2025.

XD Connects is known for its innovative promotional products, product development expertise and commitment to sustainability.

Solo, through Solo midocean and brands such as SOL’S, brings an extensive range of promotional products and textiles, strong logistics expertise and significant customisation capabilities.

What if this combination changed the game?

The ambition is clear: to offer an even more comprehensive product range, strengthen their presence across Europe and support distributors at every stage of their projects.

So, what does this mean for distributors?

More choice? Shorter lead times? Greater customisation possibilities? One partner for both promotional products and textiles?

These are the ambitions being put forward!

This strategic move aims to optimise processes, drive innovation and strengthen the services offered to distributors.

But one key question remains: what tangible benefits will this bring to everyday business?

Because beyond the size of a group, it is quality, reliability, service and human relationships that truly make the difference.

A European market in the midst of transformation!

Major acquisitions are becoming increasingly common, and our industry is evolving rapidly. Consolidation, innovation and sustainability are playing an ever-greater role.

At BAPP, we are following these developments with great interest. After all, a strong industry is built on collaboration between suppliers and distributors.

And what do you think?

Does this consolidation represent an opportunity for distributors? What do you expect from this new group? And how important are human relationships in an increasingly consolidated market?

Share your thoughts! Because the future of Product Media is something we are building together.
